history
The university of Nicosia was established in 1980 in Nicosia in the form of a private institution that prepared students to take reputable British exams like Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Communication, Advertising and Marketing Foundation (CAM). In 1981, after Dr Nicos Peristianis was hired as the director of the university, the college began to improve. It started offering new academic programs and degrees. Dr Nicos Peristianis is currently the President of the Council of the University of Nicosia.
In the 1990s it became the largest college in Cyprus. The university of Nicosia was becoming more advanced by day. The programs were becoming more in line with the needs of the country, society and the labor market. The main goal of the university was to offer programs that shape graduates in a way that they can make big contributions to the society. That goal remains untouched to the day.
Moreover, the school and its faculty members insisted on offering programs with reasonable prices so that more students have the opportunity to join the programs and make something of themselves. At that time, the university of Nicosia offered diploma, bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs. Furthermore, the university consisted of three campuses that were located in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol.
