Founded in 1991, the Romanian American University was established to create a higher education institution with a distinct focus. Fast forward around twenty years to 2010, and the university achieved a significant milestone by receiving the prestigious “High Confidence Rating” from the ARACIS organization.
The main goal when the university started was to give really good education not just to people from Romania, but also to students from different countries. One big part of this mission was to show off and keep alive the customs and traditions of Romania. They wanted to make sure people from all around the world could come together and learn from each other. This was about creating unity among everyone while making sure education and culture mix together well.

Romanian American university consists of numerous departments such as:

- Department of Finance, Credit, Accounting, Department of Physical Education and Sport – Kinesiotherapy,
- Department of Foreign Languages, as well as Department of Training Courses for the Teaching Staff.
Each department holds various programs on bachelor’s degree and master’s degree level. however, only a limited number of programs are offered in English and are suitable for international students. it offers two English taught undergraduate programs, computer science for economic and international business, and six English taught pos graduate programs, business management, computer science, marketing, finance, international business and international economics.
Scholarships offered at Romanian American University in Romania:

For instance, undergraduate students who have an average of at least 8 in their last semester and passed all their exams. They also need to have taken at least two courses with international teachers and have published at least two papers in student scientific communications. This scholarship is available for the entire bachelor’s program, as long as they meet the criteria each semester.
Moreover, postgraduate students who pass their exams, have an average of 8.5 or higher, attend classes regularly, publish a paper, and participate in a university event can get a scholarship for the next semester. By fulfilling these conditions each semester, students can benefit from this scholarship for their entire postgraduate education.

Students attending the Romanian American University can decide whether to stay on campus or find housing off campus. For those who choose on-campus living, the university offers dormitories that are modern and comfortable. These dorms are conveniently located near the university and come equipped with all the essential facilities. Each dormitory houses 150 rooms, each with three bedrooms, accommodating up to 450 students. To live in the dorms, students need to pay a monthly fee of 110 euros.

International students enrolled at the Romanian American University in Romania are presented with the option to engage in part-time professional roles, granted they have obtained a work permit. In this case, they are allowed to work about 20 hours per week and earn up to 150 euros a month. This will help students gain first-hand experience about the labor market and earn an income that can help with their daily expenses.
However, it must be mentioned that the students who only speak English may face difficulties when looking for a part-time job as the majority of the people in Romania speak Romanian. Therefore, not knowing Romanian can make the process harder but not impossible.
