history

In the year of 2008, St Gilgen International School emerged under the visionary leadership of the distinguished Austrian architect, Alexander Serda. Serda’s vision was to cultivate an educational milieu that transcended convention, nestled amidst awe-inspiring natural environs. The aspiration was to forge a lively and pulsating scholastic community, amalgamating erudite educators and pupils hailing from diverse corners of the globe. The outcome materialized as an avant-garde academic enclave, fueled by its unparalleled richness in cultural tapestry, variegated talent pool, and eclectic reservoir of experiences.

The selection of the school’s locale held profound significance – a hallowed ground once graced by the esteemed Austrian literary luminary, Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, nestled adjacent to the resplendent Wolfgangsee lake. Presently, St.GIS proudly basks in the accolade of being heralded as the epitome of exclusivity in the nation’s educational landscape, as extolled by preeminent Austrian periodicals.
