Royal Holloway university of London was first established in 1849 by queen Victoria as a female only university. Years later and in 1900 the college became a part of the university of London. About 85 years later and after the merger of the two colleges Royal Holloway was officially formed as a state and research university.

Royal Holloway University provides everything a student needs to succeed, including numerous teaching spaces, proper housing, and sports facilities. In addition, the university is surrounded by a beautiful parkland. Campus is conveniently located just 40 minutes away from London by train and only seven miles from Heathrow airport. This prime location provides easy access to a multitude of attractions, including various sporting and entertainment venues. The campus offers a variety of places to explore, whether you want to study in peace, socialize with friends, relax in comfort or get active.

The Sports Centre, situated at the bottom of campus, offers a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities. These facilities include two grass football pitches, one American football pitch, one cricket pitch, eight tennis courts, two squash courts and five netball courts. All students have the option to use facilities at our institution. It offers equipment for various sports such as basketball, football, badminton, tennis, and table tennis.

The modern library in the Emily Wilding Davison Building has more than 600,000 volumes and subscribes to 40,000 print and online journals. It’s open 24/7 nearly all year round, with 1,150 seats in different zones for silent or collaborative work. Each academic department has its own study facilities. The Students’ Union stages events for students to gather and party. The main function space, the Students’ Union Main Hall, hosts at least two events per week – and there’s Tommy’s Kitchen, Medicine and The Packhorse, each with their own flavour.

 

Language requirements for applying to Royal Holloway University in London:

The Royal Holloway International Study Centre offers an International Foundation Year program for international students who do not meet the direct entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. This program provides a pathway for students to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen degree program.( Only if your IELTS is over 5.5 and you meet the academic requirements)

  • Undergraduate halls:

There are numerous possibilities available to you, both on and off campus, so you may select a location that is perfect for each stage of your study. The applicant has two options: catered halls or self-catered halls. It ranges from 3000 to 8000 euros. For the 2023 entry, Kingswood Hall will not be available for undergraduate students to live in during their first year of study on campus. However, most undergraduate students will reside on campus for their first year of study.

  • Postgraduate halls:

Depending on your preferences and budget, there are different types of housing options available in Halls for those of you who will be attending classes primarily on Egham campus. There are self-catered halls available, and prices range from 3000 to 8000 euros.

Additionally, students who prefer to attend school in the heart of London have a choice of self-catered halls starting at 11,000 euros. If you want to stay and rent out of university, The average rent in London is between £1,500 and £2000 per month, but this amount might vary substantially depending on where you reside.

after graduation

During the academic year, you are permitted to work a maximum of 20 hours per week with a student visa for full-time degree-level study. Students who successfully finish an undergraduate or master’s degree will be given a 2-year visa, while those who successfully complete a PhD program will, if their application is approved by the UKVI, be given a 3-year visa. Please be aware that this visa cannot be automatically added to the end of your student visa; you must actively apply for it.
