history
The International Business School (IBS) commenced operations in 1991 as Central Europe’s inaugural private higher education institution. Since its inception, it has partnered with Oxford Brooks University, exclusively offering business administration courses at the undergraduate level. Initially, the university solely provided English-language programs for both domestic and international students until 1997. Subsequently, it gained recognition as a private college in Hungary, supplementing English degrees with Hungarian qualifications through an agreement with the International Advertising Association.
In subsequent years, IBS University expanded its curriculum. In 2000, it introduced bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting, followed by a bachelor’s program in international business relations in 2004. Additionally, master’s courses in international business were introduced in the same year, with the financial management master’s program following suit in 2006. Accreditation from the Adult Training Accreditation Body was attained in 2003, coinciding with the conferral of the university’s first graduate degree in business studies in 1995.
The business school continued to diversify its offerings in subsequent years. Noteworthy additions include the introduction of a bachelor’s program in arts management in 2007, a master’s program in marketing management in 2008, expansion to Vienna with master’s programs in 2013, establishment of Ph.D. programs in 2017, and the introduction of MBA courses in 2018. Most recently, the university introduced the IT for Business Data Analysis master’s program in 2020. In 2010, accreditation was obtained from the British Accreditation Council, followed by the commencement of a collaborative program with Buckingham University in 2012 and the introduction of a new program portfolio in 2013. The latest addition to the IBS campus in Budapest was completed in 2014, catering specifically to business students.

The university provides a Master’s degree program in International Management categorized as Master of Science, with students completing their studies in three semesters (equivalent to one and a half years) through full-time classes.
Scholarships offered at IBS University in Vienna:
Students meeting the criteria of a 3.6 CGPA (out of 4.00) or 90% average in other educational systems, along with scoring IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 94 (iBT) and submitting a motivation letter (minimum 200 words), qualify for a 20 percent discount on their tuition fees through the Vienna Master’s Scholarship. However, full funding is not available from this university.

IBS University maintains a strong partnership with the University of Buckingham, aligning closely in study programs, teaching methodologies, and educational blueprints. Consequently, students enrolled at IBS University will be awarded two final certificates—one from IBS and the other from Buckingham University, providing a British qualification. This dual certification enables graduates to pursue employment opportunities in England or elsewhere in Europe immediately upon completion of their studies.
Furthermore, students have the option to transfer their credits to Buckingham University for further international studies. This transition offers access to a motivational learning atmosphere, esteemed certification, global educational exposure, practice-oriented instruction, immersion in a British cultural setting, and numerous other advantages provided by Buckingham University.

The students can get temporary accommodation and look for other sorts of housing and use any housing that they want in Vienna according to their budget, like renting an apartment, and switch in about a week or ten days.
However, the IBS in Vienna recommends some accommodation options like Viennabase11 (individual or shared rooms and fully equipped), Vienna base Donau (close to public transportation and rooms on upper floors), and the Student Hotel (living in a hotel with food, drink, events, and so on) which cost about 400 to 600 euros per month and all the students can benefit from a great environment and communicate with other international students, make friends, and won’t feel homesick in this country.

All the students at IBS University in Vienna can have part-time jobs and work for 20 hours per week while studying. Also, students who have about three years of working experience in a related field to international management can enter the master’s program in international management and get their postgraduate certificate after one and a half years. Moreover, the graduates in Vienna have a high chance of finding a related and management job because this university has many partners in private or public companies that can introduce to the students, therefore, most of the graduates will find a management job right after graduation in Vienna or enter the global job market.
