history
IBS began its journey in 1991, providing English-language business education to eager students. The school’s founders had ambitious plans from the start, leading them to relocate the college from its humble beginnings near Kelenföldi railway station to the picturesque second district of Buda. In 2014, IBS relocated once again, this time to the north of Budapest, where it now boasts a modern campus experience. Situated in Graphisoft Park, the school’s three new buildings offer state-of-the-art facilities in a dynamic business environment. With the Residence Hall nearby, students enjoy a perfect blend of study and relaxation, set against the backdrop of riverside scenery and lush gardens.

Studying at IBS University in Hungary:
After receiving institutional accreditation in 1997, IBS attained recognition as a private college in Hungary. This accreditation granted IBS the authority to confer Hungarian college degrees alongside its English degrees, now known as bachelor’s degrees. Through ongoing and methodical development efforts, IBS has expanded its offerings to include eight bachelor’s and four master’s programs, a significant increase from the single program (BA in Business Studies) available in 1991.

- BUDAPEST CAMPUS: The IBS campus in Budapest comprises three meticulously restored architectural heritage buildings situated in Graphisoft Park in Óbuda, right alongside the Danube River. Graphisoft Park is home to more than 60 international and Hungarian companies, including Microsoft, SAP, Canon, and Samsung, creating a vibrant business environment for the school.

Note: Applicants with prior English language study or those who are native English speakers (as indicated by passport citizenship) are not required to take the online written test. Instead, they will only need to participate in the Orientation Interview.
For PhD programs:
After submitting the online application, the IBS Research Officer conducts an Orientation Interview via Skype to assess the applicant’s English skills.

- Starter Scholarship: The IBS Starter Scholarship covers 25% of the first-semester tuition fee. It is available for applicants of any Bachelor’s program who, in addition to meeting the general entry requirements, meet the specified criteria.
- Academic Scholarship: The IBS Academic Scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction for BSc students with outstanding academic performance. Upon request, eligible students may receive a partial scholarship, whereby IBS will cover part of their semesterly tuition fee for one semester.
- Budapest Master’s Scholarship and MBA Scholarship: The Budapest Master’s Scholarship offers a 10-35% discount on the first payment of the tuition fee for applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 3.00-4.00 or have achieved a 75-100% average in their Bachelor’s degree certificate.

These accommodations are well-equipped and conveniently located, allowing students to explore the beautiful city of Budapest during their free time.
The student halls offer modern facilities with WiFi connections, and students can choose between private rooms or having a roommate. These rooms come with all necessary amenities, including a bathroom and kitchen. Additionally, students can opt for temporary accommodation such as hotels while they search for other housing options like renting an apartment in the city center or outskirts.

To facilitate and improve the job search and application process for students, IBS University offers a range of career support services through its Career Office.
