Admission requirements for applying to Cranfield University in the UK:

Most of Cranfield’s educational and research programs have minimum entry requirements. Some of these courses may also have more entry requirements, so check your desired course before sending your application. In general, applicants should have a first or second class UK degree (or an equivalent international qualification) in the relevant field. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements can apply by demonstrating their ability to complete the course successfully; acceptance is based on the merits of each individual.

Some courses of the Cranfield are offered at the UK Defense Academy, so applicants must complete the BPSS or have a security clearance up to this level or higher before enrolling in the course. Your application and BPSS clearance application will be shared with the Department of Defense during the application process, which has the final discretion over admission to the Shrivenham site. Then, this information will be returned to the university after being checked by the Department of Defense. BPSS checks include: identity, nationality and immigration status, occupational / educational background, and criminal record.

Language requirements for applying to Cranfield University in the UK:

To study at Cranfield, applicants must demonstrate their ability to communicate in English. They can do this by: 1) Study at a UK university that has been trained and evaluated in English 2) Have a nationality or higher education level qualification from a country that is on the UKVI list of majority English speaking countries 3) Work in the UK for at least 5 years, provided you have a reference from your current employer who promptly states that you have the ability to communicate in English 4) Provide English test certificate. Applicants can apply for one of the Cranfield’s EAP courses, if they do not meet expectations of the English language arrival.

Accepted tests are listed below. However, some courses require a higher test score, so be sure to check out the course you are considering. Please note: The expiration date for the exams is only two years of the course start date. Combination of scores in two or more tests is not accepted, all elements of test results must be shown in one test. All test scores are checked with test providers.

Applicants must have at least IELTS 6.5 (5.5 in all skill components), TOEFL IBT 92 (reading at least 18, listening at least 17, writing at least 17, speaking at least 20), Pearson PTE 65 (59 in all skill components), Cambridge Assessment English 180 (160 in all skill components), overall pass in Trinity College London, or high pass overall in Language Cert (33 in all skill components).
