history

Cardiff Sixth Form College was founded in 2004.  As a small, private tutorial college it was dedicated to pioneering a new approach. In 2009, Cardiff Sixth Form College accepted its first international students. Since then, it has expanded with more and more top academic students from all over the world, investing in state-of-the-art boarding facilities and first-rate pastoral care.

Cardiff Sixth Form College is a thoroughly multi-cultural environment.  Proud of its diversity and global outlook, Cardiff now has students from more than 40 countries including local Welsh and wider UK students looking for an academic focus and pathway to top universities. The College was registered as a full boarding school in 2011 and has topped the league tables over the past 11 years as the top academic school in the UK winning numerous awards for academic achievement. It was acquired by Dukes Education in 2017 and with this change has been able to secure the academic future of the College and is proud to be a key member of the Dukes Education family of schools.

In 2022, Cardiff Sixth Form College opened a new campus in the heart of the university city of Cambridge due to increasing demand all over the world to cater for top quality students aiming for top universities.

Courses offered at Cardiff Sixth Form college in the UK:

Cardiff Sixth Form College has a reputation for academic excellence and the results of the College at both GCSE and A Level certainly speak for themselves.

All Cardiff students have the opportunity to undertake an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which enables students to research, write and present a research project on a subject of their choice and is worth half an A Level in UCAS points. Well regarded by universities the EPQ gives our students valuable skills in independent study, research and communication and often results in universities giving lower grade offers to those who undertake this type of research.

Scholarships offered at Cardiff Sixth Form college in the UK:

International students applying for a scholarship must do so at registration stage as scholarship rather than entrance papers are taken.  Please note scholarships cannot be applied for after examinations have been taken.  These are of a very high standard and we only offer a few scholarships every year which are worth up to 50% off tuition fees dependent on results.   Please note there is no scholarship on the boarding element of the fees.  Scholarships are awarded on the results of four scholarship exams in the subjects the candidate wants to take for A Level, interview, online reasoning test and school reports.

Cardiff Sixth Form college partnerships:

Graduates can make use of the university partners of this college and apply for the top international universities in the UK or any other country that they want. Also, they can find great and suitable job positions related to their field of interest and study right after graduation.
