Acıbadem University is a non-profit foundation university in Istanbul, Turkey, dedicated to the field of health sciences. The university was founded in 2007 by Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, an entrepreneur and founder of Acıbadem Healthcare Group, Turkey’s leading healthcare institution.

With the mission of being a strongly research oriented university, the research laboratories are fitted out with the latest state of the art equipment, designed to complement the life sciences and biotechnology fields.

Language requirements for applying to Acıbadem University in Istanbul:
- Students are required to document their English proficiency with international exam result documents, the equivalence of which is accepted in the relevant regulations. Applicants must submit a valid proof of English proficiency at the time of application. Those who present a valid language certificate can start their undergraduate studies without taking the University’s English proficiency exam.
- Students who cannot submit a certificate are required to take the ACEPT (Acıbadem University English Proficiency Test) and must obtain at least the minimum passing grade determined by the Senate.
- Students who cannot meet proficiency requirements are required to attend the English Preparatory Program.
- Students who study at a secondary school in a country where English is spoken as a mother tongue for at least the last three years and complete secondary education in these institutions are exempt from the English Preparatory Program.
- Students who cannot present an internationally recognized foreign language certificate must take the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University English Exemption and Placement Exam (APPT) and score at the level determined by the Senate. These scores are for undergraduate programs, and it might vary in graduate programs based on the field.

Scholarships offered at Acibadem University in Turkey:
Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University (ACU) will offer scholarships to International Students who apply to associate degree and undergraduate programs.
ACU Scholarship Committee will award scholarships based on all academic documents, international exam scores, recommendations, interview results and extra-curricular documents that demonstrate outstanding performance; therefore, there is no specific test score or average that automatically award a scholarship. Scholarships only cover the tuition fee.

On-campus: Acibadem University requires all full time first year undergraduate students to live on campus and participate in one of the college meal plans. There is an All Male dormitory and All Female dormitory in different blocks of the campus. Students must retain full time academic status to live on campus. Students who live on campus have free breakfast included.

Accommodation fee covers breakfast during weekdays (5 days), as well as VAT. The fee is between 50,000 to 69,000 Turkish Lira for an academic year based on being single or double occupancy and the flat you choose.
Off-Campus: Acibadem University does allow off-campus accommodation service. Students who wish to reside off-campus need to meet a few criterias and seek approval from the Student Dean. Accordingly, approval will be sent and students can take accommodation outside the campus. Generally, students find accommodation to be more economical outside the campus.

Acibadem University offers assistance with employment opportunities in a variety of on-campus jobs across almost every department. In addition to the financial benefits, on campus jobs help students develop both specific and transferable professional skills. Students must adhere to Student Employment policies and procedures that apply to all student employees.
International Students can only work 24 hours a week during term-time however they are allowed to work full-time during the holidays as per the rules set by the government. Students are advised to contact the Student Advisor to connect with employers for opportunities.
