After Graduation
Virtually all students progress to higher education, either at university, art college, conservatoire, or drama school. Some will go on to become artists, film-makers, designers, writers, historians, presenters, and critics; others will take up completely unexpected occupations – some of which may not yet even exist.
Past students often report that their success at university or art college was, in large part, due to the independent and mature environment in which they developed at Fine Arts College. The avoidance of the ‘us against them’ atmosphere prevalent at many schools – in favour of a co-operative, self-motivated style of learning – prepares students well for their next steps in life.
In addition, the College offers each student detailed personal guidance so that students are able to make a considered choice about their future after A Levels. As part of this guidance, we help students make connections between their studies, their talents and possible future careers. Each student has a Personal Tutor who helps them begin the process of applying to higher education, providing advice on courses and institution choices as well as detailed help with drafting personal statements. This support is also available to former students after they have left the College, some of whom return to make an application after a gap year.
