ABOUT
Studying master of Welding Engineering at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom:
We need welding to produce many products. Welding is an essential component of production in the shipbuilding, automotive, defense, nuclear, aerospace and even oil and gas industries. The master of welding equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a specialist in joining and materials and welding engineering. They will learn design, welding, materials science, quality, metallurgy, automation and the techniques of welding. This course is designed to not only provide a basic understanding of technical advances and welding technologies in the related industries, but also to provide problem-solving, connection, presentation and analysis skills. Graduates can work as management of design and construction of welding structures and management of welding production operations in many organizations which use welding technology. Cranfield Job Service has provided a variety of activities to fulfill its students’ career aspirations; students will have access to career coaching and advice, resume development, access to hundreds of available jobs through the Symplicity platform, and meet employers at our job fairs. Benefits of this course include: training by leading industrialists and academics, working with a strong research team, studying in an environment only for postgraduate studies, consulting with companies which support their staff in part-time programs related to individual projects. This course is made up of seven modules (include tutorials and lectures, and are evaluated by tests, written examinations, essays, case studies, presentations and practical work), an individual project, and a group project. The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons. A group project involves student teams working on an engineering challenge. The project uses technical knowledge and provides an opportunity for students to enhance non-technical skills. Part-time students will complete all of their compulsory modules with the agreement of the Course Director. An individual project provides an opportunity for students to explore WAAM or special welding using Cranfield facilities.
