Studying master of Vehicle and Weapon Engineering at Cranfield University in the USA:
This course is offered in the USA. Therefore, it can only accept applicants who are current residents of the United States or those who do not need a visa to enter the United States for educational purposes. The aim is to provide technical knowledge and understanding of military vehicles and weapons systems. This course attracts those who intend to come out of military service, or have just joined the defense, or are retiring soon, and are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of their work and employability. This is the only master’s degree program in Vehicle and Weapon Engineering offered in the USA. The taught program covers extensively topics related to technologies used in the design, development, assessment, and testing of military vehicles and weapons systems, and focuses on recent advances in defense technology. Students will be equipped with the knowledge to analyze and assess systems in the face of changes in the threat. After graduation, students can work in the defense industry, defense research institutes, and defense forces.
This course is made up of ten compulsory modules and four elective modules that deal with the main aspects of defense technology and present issues and limitations related to the design, development, operation, and integration of vehicle and weapon systems. Each module is a one-week course consisting of tutorials, lectures, and hands-on sessions. The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons. In addition to completing the modules, students can do an individual project or participate in a group design project. The individual project provides students with the opportunity to enhance their expertise in design, development, and research skills. The training is provided by external speakers from industry and defense and Cranfield’s leading specialists with industry knowledge, collective thematic research, and capability expertise.
Admission requirements of master degree in Vehicle and Weapon Engineering:
The course offers three degrees: MSc, PgDip and PgCert. Students can enter the course to take any of these qualifications, which are held only part-time. Successful completion of the MSc takes five years. Also, PgDip and PgCert courses last three years.
To study the field, students need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in science, engineering or mathematics. Candidates with lesser qualifications but with significant relevant work experience may be accepted.
Shrivenham Security clearance
Some courses of the Cranfield are offered at the British Defense Academy, so applicants must complete the BPSS or have a security clearance up to this level or higher before enrolling in the course.

The School of Water, Energy and Environment, the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and the School of Management are located on the Cranfield Campus, as well as many industrial-scale facilities for research.
