Studying master of Risk and Safety Management Professional at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom:
This course offers a wide range of technical knowledge in the field of safety and risk regulation in the aviation industry. It also provides students with an in-depth understanding of design, repair, modification, and safety matters, so they can strike a better balance among cost and safety. Students will develop their knowledge, skills, and behavior in the fields of regulations, law, safety management, leadership, accident investigation, human factors, and risk. Some advantages of this course: addressing all aspects of safety in aircraft operation, production, and maintenance, developing risk and safety management skills, promoting safety management and regulatory performance, collaborating with CAA International. This course is made up of four compulsory modules, two group projects (which are done in the first two years), and an individual research project. The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons. The aim of the individual research project is to provide an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills to study a particular topic or problem area. Students will be supported by supervisors in their research. Students are expected to complete their master’s degree in 3 years and their apprenticeship in 3.5 years.
Compulsory modules:
- Advanced Safety and Risk Management: This module examines the effectiveness of safety management systems.
- Aviation Legislation and Regulatory Approach: The purpose of this module is to assess the challenges faced by ICAO and NAA.
- Aircraft Accident Investigation and Response: The purpose of this course is to review accident processes from informing and responding to disaster to preparing a final report and recommendations for change.
- Responding to Risk in Sociotechnical Systems: The purpose of this course is to review techniques, tools, and models for assessing, identifying, and mitigating hazards that arise due to the interactive system complexity.
Admission requirements of master degree in Risk and Safety Management Professional:
The course only offers a part-time MSc degree, which takes three years to successfully complete. To study this field, students need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in a relevant subject-based discipline. Other relevant industrial experience may be accepted.
* Apprentices on level 7 apprenticeships in the UK are required to provide proof of English and Math achievement in the form of an accepted degree at level 2 or higher.

The School of Water, Energy and Environment, the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and the School of Management are located on the Cranfield Campus, as well as many industrial-scale facilities for research.
There are many facilities on Cranfield Campus, including: student accommodation options, two hotels with full accommodation and conference and banqueting facilities, sports and recreation facilities, and a private airport. Cranfield Campus sports facilities include several tennis courts sports pitches, playing fields, an aerobics stadium, and a fitness center.
Students admitted to a full-time course can apply for on-campus accommodation. They will also be able to find private housing off campus in nearby areas. Cranfield Campus has 1,466 single rooms, 75 studio apartments for couples, and 97 family homes including two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom houses. All dormitories have Wi-Fi internet connection. All students will benefit from Endsleigh insurance, which covers the risks that may occur while living in student accommodation.
