Manufacturing technologies are in charge of delivering the next-generation products which affect the aerospace and automotive sectors. This course offers technical knowledge to support and provide new product development. Students will be supported by a world-renowned university in solving a real-world industrial challenge through group projects and dissertations. This course is led by an industrial consulting committee to equip students with the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of employers. The aim of this course is to attract materials and mechanical engineers who are interested in participating in hi-tech production methods to develop innovative products. This course prepares each student for leadership roles. Cranfield Job Service has provided a variety of activities to fulfill its students’ career aspirations; students will have access to career coaching and advice, resume development, access to hundreds of available jobs through the Symplicity platform, and meet employers at our job fairs. The course is made up of three compulsory and twelve elective modules, an individual project, and a group project. By learning the modules, students will acquire an understanding of management performance and manufacturing technologies. The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons. The group project involves student teams working on an industrial challenge. The project uses technical knowledge and provides an opportunity for students to enhance non-technical skills. Part-time students can prepare a thesis on a topic agreed with the course director instead of a group project. The individual project creates an opportunity to develop students’ research ability to provide business engineering and technical service solutions. Compulsory modules include the following:

Admission requirements of master degree in Manufacturing Technology and Management:
The course offers three degrees: MSc, PgDip and PgCert. Students can enter the course to take any of these qualifications, which are held full-time and part-time. Successful completion of the course takes one year full-time and two-five years part-time.
To study the field, applicants need a first or second class UK honours or an international equivalent degree. Other relevant qualifications with significant experience may be accepted. Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements can successfully qualify for the second year of study by completing the pre-master’s course.

The School of Water, Energy and Environment, the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and the School of Management are located on the Cranfield Campus, as well as many industrial-scale facilities for research.
