Today, almost all crimes have a digital element, and forensic science encompasses all criminal justice system. One of the most important fields of forensic science is digital forensics. Master of Digital Forensics is a new discipline that teaches academic operational skills to fill digital forensic statuses. This course equips students with the comprehension of research methods, digital forensic science, and courtroom skills. Students will be exposed to new research aimed at addressing real-world problems to prepare them for entry into the field of digital forensics. Course modules:
- Introductory Studies: This module provides an introduction to the basic principles of the course and guides you. You will upgrade your research skills to learn the next modules. Conversation sessions create an opportunity for students to communicate and gain confidence in expressing proven professional opinions.
- Courtroom Skills: This module provides an opportunity for students to become familiar with reporting and statement writing, presenting evidence in court, preparing for cross examination, and criminal and civil law.
- Investigation and Evidence Collection: The purpose is to understand the primary responsibilities of gathering and recording evidence at the crime spot.
- Introduction to Digital Crime and Investigation: Students will learn related processes in digital crime research.
- Digital Forensics Techniques and Traces: The aim is to provide a thorough understanding of the principles of usual digital systems, the artifacts connected with these systems, and techniques for identifying, gathering, and analyzing them.
- Internet Based Investigations: Students will learn different Internet-based services and technologies.
- Programming for Digital Forensics: The goal is to provide skills in using programming techniques to identify, extract, and interpret data.
- Mobile Device Forensics: The goal is to teach different technologies related to methods of observing, gathering, and analyzing data, forensic inspection of mobile devices, and relevant legal concerns.
- Thesis: The purpose is to conduct a main and independent, practical or experimental research related to a particular area of the curriculum by students.

Admission requirements of master degree in Digital Forensics:
The course offers three degrees: MSc, PgDip and PgCert. Students can enter the course to take any of these qualifications, which are held full-time and part-time. Successful completion of the MSc course takes 13 months full-time and three years part-time. Also, PgDip and PgCert courses last one year full-time and two years part-time.
To study the field, students need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in Information Security, Computer Science, Forensic Science, or Digital Forensics. Other qualifications along with representing enthusiasm and knowledge in the subject may be accepted. Applicants who are seeking to apply via the empirical path; they will need at least seven years of experience as a practitioner.

The expiration date for the exams is only two years of the course start date. Combination of scores in two or more tests is not accepted, all elements of test results must be shown in one test. All test scores are checked with test providers.

The School of Water, Energy and Environment, the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and the School of Management are located on the Cranfield Campus, as well as many industrial-scale facilities for research.

Students admitted to a full-time course can apply for on-campus accommodation. They will also be able to find private housing off campus in nearby areas.
