Automotive Engineering is about the design, manufacturing, and operation of cars, motorcycles, trucks and other automobiles. There are many things you can work on when it comes to automobile for example: you can work on the safety aspect and evaluate different crash scenarios, whether it is on a computer or doing a real crash test. Cars must meet certain standards to protect drivers and passengers. So, the frame of the car would have to be designed properly such that energy from a crash is absorbed or moved away from the driver. This course will equip you with the skills needed to advance automotive technology to meet the demands of automotive industry. Graduates can work in the fields of engine design, electric and hybrid vehicle design, chassis and braking operations and much more. Advantages of this course include: directing by an industrial consulting panel containing senior automotive engineers, presenting your research project to panel members at an annual event in July, training by leading industrial practitioners and academics, working with Cranfield University’s strong research team, teaching the content needed by the automotive sector through Cranfield University’s strategic links with industry, providing technical qualities, independent learning ability and transferable skills to students, offering industry placements during research work. This course is made up of an individual research project, a group project, and eight compulsory modules (which are estimated through a combination of individual homework and written exams). The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons.

Admission Requirements of master degree in Automotive Engineering:
The course only offers a full-time MSc degree, which takes one year to successfully complete. To study the field, students need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in engineering, mathematics or applied sciences, and a proven motivation to work in automotive.
*Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements can successfully qualify for the second year of study by completing the pre-master’s course.

The expiration date for the exams is only two years of the course start date. Combination of scores in two or more tests is not accepted, all elements of test results must be shown in one test. All test scores are checked with test providers.
