Studying master of Aircraft Design at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom:
A sophisticated combination of lightweight and stable structures, advanced systems engineering and aerodynamic proficiency is needed to design an efficient aircraft. During this course you will acquire the skills of designing and integrating different structural and systemic elements using new methods and techniques. Cranfield University welcomes students from all over the world and aims to attract those who are interested in acquiring knowledge and skills in designing aircraft systems and structures. The purpose of this course is to teach how to select, integrate specific systems and their impact on the aircraft, as well as provide an overview of the aircraft configuration design, structures and systems. Furthermore, you will experience flying with an NFLC aircraft. A safety briefing is held before the flight to familiarize you with the details of the maneuvers that must be performed. Each experiment lasts two to three hours. Students benefit from the experiences and training of industry and university professionals. The course is led by an Industrial Advisory Committee; the content of the course is reviewed twice a year by them to ensure its relevance to the needs of the industry. Cranfield has a close relationship with industry. Hence, it prepares students for employment in the field of designing system and structure and also analyzing stress. This course is made up of nine compulsory and eleven elective modules, an individual research project (which will be evaluated by two examiners from the university) and a group design project (which will be evaluated by two examiners from the industry). The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons. This program is offered through a combination of private study, computer-based workshops, structured and industry guest lectures.
Admission requirements of master degree in Aircraft Design:
The course only offers a full-time MSc degree, which takes one year to successfully complete. To study this field, you need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline. Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements can successfully qualify for the second year of study by completing the pre-master’s course.
Language requirements of master degree in Aircraft Design:
IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall and 5.5 in all skill components.
TOEFL IBT: 92 total and minimum skill component scores of 18 reading, 17 listening, 20 speaking and 17 writing.
PTE Academic: 65 overall and 59 in all skill components.
Cambridge Assessment English tests: Cambridge English Scale score of 180 overall and 160 in all skill components.
Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III: Pass
Language Cert: High pass overall and 33 in all skill components

The School of Water, Energy and Environment, the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and the School of Management are located on the Cranfield Campus, as well as many industrial-scale facilities for research.
There are many facilities on Cranfield Campus, including: student accommodation options, two hotels with full accommodation and conference and banqueting facilities, sports and recreation facilities, and a private airport. Cranfield Campus sports facilities include several tennis courts sports pitches, playing fields, an aerobics stadium, and a fitness center.
Students admitted to a full-time course can apply for on-campus accommodation. They will also be able to find private housing off campus in nearby areas. Cranfield Campus has 1,466 single rooms, 75 studio apartments for couples, and 97 family homes including two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom houses. All dormitories have Wi-Fi internet connection. All students will benefit from Endsleigh insurance, which covers the risks that may occur while living in student accommodation.
