ABOUT

The aim of this course is to provide you with the necessary skills to design a flying vehicle such as: spacecraft, airplane, airship and rocket. choose one of the following three specialized options to shine in the aerospace industry:

Aircraft Design: during this course you will acquire the skills of designing and integrating different structural and systemic elements using new methods and techniques. A sophisticated combination of lightweight and stable structures, advanced systems engineering and aerodynamic proficiency is needed to design an efficient aircraft. The aim of this course is to teach how to select, integrate specific systems and their impact on the aircraft, as well as provide an overview of the aircraft configuration design, structures and systems. Furthermore, you will experience flying with an NFLC aircraft. Graduates can work in the fields of designing system and structure and also analyzing stress.

This course consists of 9 compulsory modules, 11 optional modules, an individual research project (will be evaluated by two people from the university) and a group design project (will be evaluated by two people from the industry).

Delivery: taught modules 10%, individual research project 40%, group project 50%

Avionics Systems Design: with the increasing need for more military precision in conflicts and the increasing density of civilian aircraft traffic, we need more sophisticated avionics systems in safer aircraft operations. During this course you will learn the skills of designing avionic systems, developing, testing, analyzing and integrating airframe. This course provides you with the skills of designing military and civilian aircraft by focusing on management, business and technology. Moreover, you will experience flying with an NFLC aircraft. Graduates can work in the aerospace or related industries in the fields of structural design, project design, system design, or as an avionics engineer.

This course consists of 16 compulsory modules, 6 optional modules, an individual research project (will be evaluated by two people from the university) and a group design project (will be evaluated by two people from the industry).

Delivery: taught modules 10%, individual research project 40%, group project 50%

Structural Design (available for October intake only): modern aircraft manufacturers are looking for more durable and lightweight structures. The aircraft must have structural integrity in order to meet the regulations of airworthiness and economically achieve its design specifications. this course will give you an understanding of aerodynamics principles, airworthiness requirements, aircraft structure, design standards, stress analysis, loading, damage tolerance, and selection of suitable materials (composite and metal).
