Aims of this course include: providing students with access to near-industrial scale facilities for their project work in aerospace, automotive, energy and power, transport and manufacturing, preparing students to drive large and complex projects by combining advanced mechanical engineering topics, with full support in management skills, developing students technology leadership skills, organizing group and individual projects for students based on their interests and job aspirations, and benefiting students from lecturers’ experience to meet the challenges of mechanical engineering in the real world. Students will also enjoy the support of Cranfield’s team of professorial thought leaders, including Professor Phil Hart. Cranfield Job Service has provided a variety of activities to fulfill its students’ career aspirations; students will have access to career coaching and advice, resume development, access to hundreds of available jobs through the Symplicity platform, and meet employers at our job fairs. The taught programme is delivered from October to February and consists of eight modules which are mainly delivered over two weeks. The provided modules may be modified or canceled due to research advances, changes in rules or for various other reasons.

Admission Requirements of master degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering:
The course offers three degrees: MSc, PgDip and PgCert. Students can enter the course to take any of these qualifications, which are held full-time and part-time. Successful completion of a full-time course takes one year and a part-time course takes two to three years.
To study the field, students need a first or second class UK honours (or equivalent) in mathematics, physics or an engineering discipline. With the approval of the Course Director, you may be accepted through several years of relevant industry experience or other recognized professional qualifications (as equivalent).
*Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements can successfully qualify for the second year of study by completing the pre-master’s course.
