Studying Oxbridge Candidate Programme at Abbey Group of Colleges (Cambridge Campus) in the UK:
Applying to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge (known collectively as Oxbridge) is a very competitive process, with less than 20% of the students applying each year securing a place at an Oxbridge college.
Students need more than just good A Level grades in order to be successful. Cambridge and Oxford require students to sit extra admissions tests and academic interviews; thorough preparation for these stages of the application process is therefore essential.

Curriculum:
As this is a challenging and rigorous preparation programme, students will need to successfully complete an application and selection process to gain a place. Students who are accepted onto the programme will be able to participate at no extra cost.
Through the Oxbridge Candidate Programme, students will learn how to approach:

Deadlines and intakes:
The bulk of the Oxbridge Candidate Programme takes place throughout the Autumn Term in Year 13, beginning in early September and ending in December.
Some progress meetings will take place during the summer holiday between years 12 & 13, so that students can understand how they should be preparing for their Oxbridge applications over the summer.

The Careers program at Abbey Cambridge offers a high-quality, impartial and up-to-date program of information and guidance, including:
- Speakers (ranging from professionals to former students) are invited to the College.
- Attendance at careers fairs and conferences,
Organization of variety of Careers-related activities themselves from their staff giving enrichment talks on careers in their specialist subject fields to hosting their annual UCAS Fair, where students use from Y11 onwards use Unifrog to look at careers opportunities and reflect on their own skills and aptitudes through the extensive personality tests available on the website. - Workshops on CV writing and interview techniques are provided, and through our exploration of work-related learning, students are helped to find work experience and placements at the end of Year 12 or take part in work shadowing activities provided by their partner InvestIN. This includes volunteering opportunities that students who participate in the Duke of Edinburgh pursue themselves to gain their silver or gold awards.
