Studying in Pre-IB Year at Eerde international boarding school in Netherlands:
The pre- IB programme focuses on improving students’ skills in all aspects needed for the IBDP or IBCP. For some students this can be improving English language skills, where other students may find the opportunity to improve their skills in maths or sciences. The school will set up individual learning paths for this year with every student after the admission to the school.
The programme also exposed students to inquiry-based learning, practical research methods and to the benefits of service learning and international mindedness.
Necessary information:
- Age: at least 15 years old during the academic year

- Tuition fee per academic year: € 25,200
- One-off registration fee for non-EU citizens: € 3650
The tuition fee will include all the class teaching and supervision, refreshments, lunch, media resource.
The one-time registration fee is due immediately after Eerde International Boarding School accepts a new primary pupil for a full academic year and is non-refundable.
Curriculum:
The Pre-IB programme at Eerde is designed to:
Strengthen students’ English reading and communication skills to a level that gives access to the IBCP / IBDP
Reinforce concepts and skills from core subject such as Mathematics, Sciences, but also Art, Music, and Physical Education in preparation for IBCP / IBDP
Introduce students to IB subjects, the styles of learning, including inquiry based, collaborative, and practical methods
Increase students’ understanding of the benefits of service learning
Increase students’ international mindedness
Career opportunity:
This one-year programme is particularly well suited for students who wish to study at IBDP or IBCP level, but whose English language skills are not yet sufficient to ensure success.
And for students that wish to start at Eerde IBS in grade 10, without prior knowledge to the IGCSE.

Furthermore, an online interview will be conducted via skype or WhatsApp, during which students’ mannerisms and abilities are assessed.
Students will be asked to sit papers in English and Mathematics and a GL entrance exam, which will give an indication of the current level of the student.

IELTS Test result (when not been in international education) 5.0 – 6.0

Students of the Eerde international boarding school in Netherlands have the option of attending the school in the form of day school or boarding school. Those who wish to be accommodated in the school, are required to pay an additional cost that may range from 22,850 to 42,750, depending on how many days a week they wish to stay in the dorms. Students also have the opportunity to find accommodation in the dorms for single nights. The cost of each night is 135 euros.
The students attending the boarding school, come from over 20 different countries, this makes it highly diverse. Therefor, students become familiar with different cultures and customs and consequently gain a worldly view of life.
All the staff and workers of the boarding school are chosen meticulously to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every single student. students are placed in atmosphere that enriches their culture and improves their abilities.
The rooms are divided based on age and gender in order to maximize the comfort of each student. It is notable that the school does not tolerate discrimination of any kind; therefore, students of different races, nationalities, religions or sexual orientations are treated equally. This teaches students to not only tolerate diversity, but also celebrate and embrace it. most of the rooms are suitable for two students, which enhances friendship and comfort.
However, students who prefer more private rooms, have the chance to take residence in single-bed rooms that cost more.
Students are required to organize and tidy their rooms regularly and do chores; this teaches them the proper ways of maintaining a home, which will be very handy when they want to live independently. Additionally, all of the rooms are equipped with high quality appliances and washing machines and dryers. Also, the school offers regular doctor appointments to ensure the health of the students.
