Studying in the IBDP program at the Eerde international boarding school in Netherlands:
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) prepares students for university education in a country of their choice. The program is a pre-university qualification recognized by universities in more than 140 countries, and opens the doors to the best universities in the world. IBDP classes are a carefully constructed mix of activity and reflection. Eerde IBDP classes are taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers, with almost all staff having a master’s degree or higher.
The IB Diploma Program and IB Career Related Programs are rigorous courses of study and to be a successful candidate in either course, students must be committed to attending school regularly, to completing homework and assignments by the due dates given, and having a conscientious attitude towards their studies. The successful IB student is an independent and self-motivated learner.

Curriculum:
Students between 16 to 19 years old can participate in International Baccalaureate Foundation Program (IBDP) which is a three-year program. This program focuses mainly on four subjects; English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
The Core of the IB Diploma Program is built around three components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) and Extended Essay (EE). Students must satisfactorily complete all three Core components in order to be awarded the Diploma. The Core is designed to help students develop the attributes of the Eerde and IB Learner Profiles and grow further as responsible young adults.
The Extended Essay is an independent research paper which students write supervised by a member of the teaching faculty. Students may choose to write their essay in any of the Diploma disciplines they are studying and determine their own topics and research questions.

Application Requirements:
- A* to C grades in at least 6 IGCSE courses (2 of these courses must be Mathematics and English (or ESL));
- Or the equivalent of 6 A* to C grades in non-IGCSE courses (2 of these must be Mathematics and English (or ESL));
- Proof of English proficiency (non- native English speakers only) IELTS test result of 6,0 or higher (or equivalent)
- Demonstrate themselves as organized, independent, and self – motivated learners through their ATL grades.

Students who are not meeting the above expectations will still be allowed to participate in the Diploma Program but will do so under Academic Supervision. The student will meet with the DP Coordinator who will consult with the Grade Level Leader and the student’s counsellor to outline the requirements of Academic Supervision.
Furthermore, an online interview will be conducted via skype or WhatsApp, during which students’ mannerisms and abilities are assessed.
English language requirements:
IBDP students must have the proof of English proficiency IELTS test result of 6 or higher (or equivalent).

Students of the Eerde international boarding school in Netherlands have the option of attending the school in the form of day school or boarding school. Those who wish to be accommodated in the school, are required to pay an additional cost that may range from 22,850 to 42,750, depending on how many days a week they wish to stay in the dorms. Students also have the opportunity to find accommodation in the dorms for single nights. The cost of each night is 135 euros.
The students attending the boarding school, come from over 20 different countries, this makes it highly diverse. Therefor, students become familiar with different cultures and customs and consequently gain a worldly view of life.
All the staff and workers of the boarding school are chosen meticulously to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every single student. students are placed in atmosphere that enriches their culture and improves their abilities.
The rooms are divided based on age and gender in order to maximize the comfort of each student. It is notable that the school does not tolerate discrimination of any kind; therefore, students of different races, nationalities, religions or sexual orientations are treated equally. This teaches students to not only tolerate diversity, but also celebrate and embrace it. most of the rooms are suitable for two students, which enhances friendship and comfort.
However, students who prefer more private rooms, have the chance to take residence in single-bed rooms that cost more.
Students are required to organize and tidy their rooms regularly and do chores; this teaches them the proper ways of maintaining a home, which will be very handy when they want to live independently. Additionally, all of the rooms are equipped with high quality appliances and washing machines and dryers. Also, the school offers regular doctor appointments to ensure the health of the students.
