Studying in IB Primary Years Program at Berlin Brandenburg International School in Berlin:
From age 6 onwards, students join Grades 1 to 5. We offer a challenging, comprehensive and engaging curriculum as part of the IB Primary Years Programme. Preparing your child for a lifelong journey of learning.

Curriculum:
Your child’s homeroom teacher will teach:
- Language Arts
- Maths

- Social Studies
- Art
- Drama
- Personal Social Health Education (PSHE)
Where possible, the work is trans-disciplinary – students focus on six in-depth units of inquiry over the course of the year.
In addition, students have classes in German, Physical Education, Art, Music and Library. These are taught by specialist teachers. Information technology is used throughout the subject areas as a tool to support learning.
Grades 4 and 5 take part in a weekly choir as part of the curriculum; and Grade 5 have weekly instrumental lessons (students can choose from trumpet, flute, clarinet etc).
Your child can choose from a wide range of exciting and challenging extracurricular activities each term. These may include soccer, cross country, biking, karate, calligraphy, instrumental ensemble and many other activities and clubs.

Graduates can move to higher school programs at this school or any other international school that they want after graduation

Due to the fact that the programs are offered in English, students must be fluent enough to be able to attend the classes and actually be admitted to the school. However, no certificates have been specified. Students will be obligated to take part in a test that is used to evaluate their academic level, as well as their language proficiency status. Berlin Brandenburg International School in Germany provides students with the opportunity to take residence in the school dorms. However, it must be mentioned that the students must be at least 14 years old and be at least in 9th grade. Students younger than that cannot reside in the dorms.
Students stay in two-person bedrooms and are divided based on age, gender and their home language. Notably, students in 12th grade can stay in individual rooms and enjoy a higher level of freedom and independence.
The student residence has been equipped with facilities like a games room, movie room, sport facilities, gym, weights room computers, conference room, a student printer, large flatscreen TV, community kitchens, central dining room and Wi-Fi.
