ABOUT
What you will study
Our Economics MA will give you a thorough education in the theories and applications of economics. You’ll study the core principles of microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, gaining a critical awareness of current economic problems and insights. You’ll also develop the ability to combine relevant analytical techniques with insightful data analysis to produce economic conclusions.
The range of optional modules on this course will allow you to shape your studies to match your personal interests and career aspirations.

Facilities
The University provides its students with leading facilities, including our recently renovated Library and Learning Centre and a range of computer labs across campus.
For students on this course, a designated computer lab is located at the heart of the School of Economics. You’ll have access to specialist software and have the chance to work and learn together with your peers.

Academic year structure
This course is studied full-time over one academic year or part-time over two years. It consists of eight taught modules and an advanced project.
Modules

The University operates a credit framework for all taught programmes based on a 15-credit tariff. Modules can be either 15, 30, 45, 75 and 120 credits, and additionally for some masters dissertations, 90 credits.
Timetable
Course timetables are normally available one month before the start of the semester. Please note that while we make every effort to ensure that timetables are as student-friendly as possible, scheduled teaching can take place on any day of the week (Monday – Friday). Wednesday afternoons are normally reserved for sports and cultural activities. Part-time classes are normally scheduled on one or two days per week, details of which can be obtained from the Academic Hive.
Entry requirements
A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree, or a recognised equivalent international qualification. We may be able to take relevant work experience into consideration if you don’t meet these requirements. If you have at least one year of relevant experience in a full-time graduate-level role (or a minimum of two years’ experience in a relevant graduate-level part-time role) please provide full details of your role and responsibilities in your personal statement and CV when you submit your application.

The international students can use the on-campus or off-campus accommodations while studying at the University of Surrey in the UK which has an affordable monthly rent for all the applicants, this university has more than 6000 rooms available in three different locations in Guildford with different price bands in shared or studio flats for all the students. Also, all of these rooms are fully furnished with bed, desk, chair, reading lamp, bookshelf, and so on. Therefore, the students can bring their personal belongings and start living in the UK. Furthermore, the applicants will pay about 158 pounds per week during their study period. However, it depends on the room choices that they have.
After Graduation
The international students must pay £363 for visa application and the same amount per each dependent who wants to come with them to the UK. Also, the students must refer to their visas to find out whether they can work while studying in this country or not. Overall, the University of Surrey recommends the students to focus on their studies and use the scholarships or funds to cover their study or a part of their living expenses in the UK. On the other hand, if the students find a relevant and suitable part-time career, they can gain more job experience and money to cover their fees while studying in this country. Furthermore, the international students in the UK can work to 20 hours per week.
