Programme Overview

This programme will equip you with theoretical and practical knowledge of digital marketing and analytics. It provides a solid understanding of digital marketing concepts, trends, and methodologies. You will appreciate the importance of marketing analytics and their role in creating business opportunities. You will also gain practical problem-solving skills through an in-depth study of real-life case studies. In addition to field-specific knowledge, you will receive rigorous training in research methods, data analysis techniques, critical thinking, and the use of analytics toolkits. You will have the opportunity to culminate this learning in your final Dissertation at the end of the programme which may take the form of an academic piece of research of your choosing, or instead be more applied in scope as a lengthier piece of analytical writing connected with direct business outcomes.

Programme Structure The 12-month programme consists of eight compulsory modules followed by either a research project (ULMS719) or the dissertation (ULMS790) carried out over the summer period upon completion of Semester 2. Students are required to complete 180 credits to achieve a full MSc.

Entry requirements

The University of Liverpool Management School continues to welcome applications that fulfil our admissions criteria in order to select a balanced international student cohort. However in order to maintain the high quality of student experience, programmes will stop accepting new applications from certain countries once the number of offers from these countries exceed the target. As students from different countries tend to apply at different points in the application period, applications from some countries may close earlier in the year. In these cases we will aim to provide a 3-week notice period to the affected country, prior to any programme closure. Normally a university degree with a minimum of 2:1 standard from a UK university, or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar non-UK institution is required. The MSc Marketing is suitable for graduates of any discipline and assumes no prior knowledge of marketing, and is, therefore, not suitable for applicants with a first degree in Marketing. Non-graduates with very extensive professional experience and/or other prior qualifications may also be considered. All candidates must meet our required level of English.

International qualifications

Applications from international students are welcomed.International qualifications will be evaluated in line with the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) guidelines.

English language qualifications

All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language and are required to provide evidence of this.If you meet the academic requirements of the course but do not have the required level of English Language, it is possible for you to come and study at the University on one of our Pre-sessional EAP programmes.If you require additional English Language training during your study, the University is able to provide tuition and arrange IELTS tests through its English Language Centre.

Please be advised that TOEFL is no longer classified by UK Visas and Immigration as a Secure English Language Test (SELT). However, at the current time the university is continuing to accept TOEFL, at the required level, for entry on to Undergraduate and Postgraduate academic programmes.

Tuition fees (Home)

The University’s tuition fees are normally fixed at yearly intervals and follow Government guidelines on minimum levels. The normal tuition fee for Home (UK) postgraduate taught students per year (for the academic year 2022/23, unless otherwise specified) are stated below.  Please note that part-time fees are charged at 50% of the full-time fee shown below per year (unless otherwise specified). In addition to your tuition fees, you may incur other costs in relation to your studies such as photocopying in the library, buying textbooks and specialist equipment or going on field classes.

This university offers accommodation to all the international students and has over 4,500 rooms in the city campus or the Greenbank Student Village, also the students can benefit from a living in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with excellent full-time support from the University of Liverpool staff in dormitories and student halls, however, the applicants must apply for accommodation as soon as possible at the time of application, even before starting the classes because the students can get a great room based on a first-come, first-served basis, also the students can use complete facilities like desk, bed, shower, wifi, kitchen, and so on in all the Liverpool campus halls like the Crown place, Dover Court, Melville Grove, Vine Court, and so on.

After Graduation

The students are allowed to work while studying at this university, but the hours depend on their mode of education, and the free time that they have per week, also the international applicants’ work permit depends on their visas, therefore, they can check their visas to find out if they are allowed to work in this country, furthermore, the students received their visas from outside the UK, their visas should have “work must be authorized” or any other phrase meaning the same thing, also the applicants who extend their visas in the UK and have an ID card must be able to see “Restricted Work P/T term time. F/T vacations” on their renewed permit.
Overall, the full-time students can work for up to 20 hours per week, however, the University of Liverpool recommends that the students work for at most 15 hours per week and focus on their studies to get better results at this university, also the students can work full-time during their university vacation time to save money for their study and living expenses in the future, moreover, if the students get good results in their studies, they can get a scholarship or fund to help them pay for their tuition fee, furthermore, the students can find a proper and related job by using the local newspapers, website, or the careers and employment service website of the University of Liverpool.
