The Work based learning course is for anyone currently working in an area of health care practice who wishes to extend their knowledge and understanding of a specific aspect of practice through audit or situational analysis.Course content
The Work-based learning in Health and Medical Practice course is designed to allow you to study a particular work related issue enabling you to gain advanced knowledge, understanding and skills related to the chosen topic and to identify strategies to develop practice in that area. Through a variety of blended learning strategies the module supports you in the identification of strategies for examining lifelong learning needs and identifying personal learning needs along with their relationship to professional CPD requirements. It explores:- Situational analysis
- The identification of best practice and their application to service improvement.
Assessment
Completion of the module will allow you to develop your critical appraisal skills, improve your own learning and that of others in your work environment, communicate effectively with others, use commonly available IT tools, manage time and resources effectively and solve problems in a logical manner You will be required to explore an area of professional practice where there are specific learning needs and will be guided in a critical situational analysis with a view to service or professional improvement. Where is the module taught and by whom?
This module is a blended learning module which requires online attendance, with the option of attending an assessment workshop and face-to-face tutorials at the University of Hertfordshire’s College Lane Campus. This module will be taught by Ken Spearpoint.Equipment Requirement
Delivery of the module will incorporate blended learning, which aims to combine e-learning activities with campus based learning. You will therefore need to have access to a suitable personal computer and a good reliable Internet connection (broadband recommended). Most modern PCs or Macs (less than 3 years old) should be suitable. If you have any queries or need any additional support with IT skills, the School employs an e-learning technologist who will be pleased to help and advise you.Course fees
