Overview
Studying this industry accredited course will enable you to develop as a highly skilled and experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of the Film and Television industries.
You will be taught by a team of expert lecturers who remain industry active and will share their knowledge with you and give you a clear insight into the realities of working within Film and Television.
You will be introduced to the creative and technical aspects of single camera and multi-camera filmmaking and television production, supported by film and media theory to inform your practice. And you will learn how to generate and develop ideas and adopt a creative approach to your work.
During the second and third years of the course, there are a range of specialist options available to enable you to explore your own areas of interest. There is also the option to study abroad at a partner university or to do a placement in industry on the four-year version of the course.
In your final year you will undertake a major bespoke production project, where you will be able to collaborate with other disciplines and put your learning into practice, whilst showcasing your expertise developed through the course.

International Baccalaureate requirements
112 UCAS tariff points to include at least 80 points from 2 HL subjects. Plus HL 3 or SL 4 in Maths and English Language and Literature A or English B.
Plus minimum of
GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or 4 (equivalents accepted).
English language requirements
Minimum IELTS at 6.0 or the equivalent.

Progression requirements for degree programme
Pass each module and achieve a programme average of at least 40%.
If you do not meet the entry requirements for this course, our Foundation Year has a route to Film and Television Production.
Advanced entry
If you are currently studying at another university and would like to transfer to the University of Bradford, this course accepts students into the second or third year. This is called advanced entry

Career prospects
This course will prepare you for a career in film and television production in research, content creation, scriptwriting, camera, sound, lighting, editing, studio and location management, production management, producing and directing or you may prefer to continue your studies on our Master’s course in Digital Filmmaking. Graduates have also gone into teacher training.
Our graduates have gone on to work in the UK and overseas for organisations including the BBC, Sky, ITV, Thames Television, Channel Four, Home Box Office, Endemol, the National Media Museum, Warner Brothers, MGM, True North Productions, MTV and many others. Our graduates have worked on hit TV shows including Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Big Brother, Emmerdale, BBC Look North and BBC Reporting Scotland as well as blockbuster movies including War Horse, The King’s Speech, The Theory of Everything, Skyfall and all of the Harry Potter films.

Accommodation at the University of Bradford in the UK is centered around The Green Village, recommended for students. It offers two options:
- Apartments: Ideal for those who prefer privacy, each apartment has six en-suite bedrooms with private shower rooms. They feature a shared kitchen/dining area and living space, along with a three-quarter bed, desk study area, and wardrobe in each bedroom. These apartments are also designed to accommodate people with disabilities.
- Townhouses: These are blocks of houses, similar to traditional English terraced blocks, and are the more affordable option. Each townhouse has 12 bedrooms sharing a large open-plan living space with a kitchen/dining area and living space. Each floor has four bedrooms sharing two shower rooms. Bedrooms include a three-quarter bed, desk study area, and wardrobe.
The cost of accommodation is about 50 to 55 pounds per week.
