ABOUT
In your second and third years you’ll specialise in endodontics and gain extensive practical experience as you work with patients. This course prepares you for the specialty membership examinations in endodontics of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).
Course description
The DClinDent is suited to all dentists who wish to pursue specialist training in one of the restorative monospecialties and wish to prepare for the specialty membership examinations in endodontics, periodontology and prosthodontics of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).
You’ll have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and critical awareness of the issues that determine successful outcomes, informed by the latest research in restorative dentistry, in accordance with the requirements of the UK’s GDC specialist curricula. We’ll foster your ability to make sound judgements in complex and unpredictable situations, so you can plan and implement tasks at a professional level. You’ll learn how to communicate clearly and professionally to specialist and non-specialist audiences
Distinct and carefully mapped opportunities to work and interact with colleagues in the other two restorative disciplines and other hospital trainees will give doctorate students the opportunity to develop their skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
The first year of the course gives you a solid grounding in endodontic, periodontal and prosthodontic treatments. You’ll develop your clinical skills in our first-rate facilities and attend treatment planning clinics with course tutors. You’ll also carry out the literature review component of the research project.
In the second and third years you’ll treat patients and focus on your specialism: endodontics. You’ll carry out the experimental component of the research project and complete a thesis of publication standard.
Final-year students (year 3) can choose to sit a conjoint examination. Successful candidates will be awarded the degree of DClinDent and specialty membership (RCSEd) in endodontics.

accommodation
The international undergraduate and postgraduate students at this university can use different types of accommodation options and live in a safe and vibrant environment to focus entirely on their studies and get the best result, also the students can use the cafes and bars gyms, and other living facilities, on the other hand, they can have an accommodation tour and Sheffield city tour to become familiar with their living environment and make the most suitable decision, as we said, this university offers various accommodation options with different fees like £6,782.58 to £10,210.62 for a rental place in the city for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and they can choose to have a private or shared room.
After Graduation
The international students can work up to 20 hours in part-time jobs in the UK, however, they must refer to their visa to see whether they have study and work permits or not, we recommend you to focus only on your education to get the best results and be able to find the most suitable jobs in the UK or the global market right after graduation, on the other hand, if the international applicants need extra financial help to pay for their tuition fee, living, and study expenses, they can find part-time jobs under some conditions, also if the students find related jobs to their educational fields (with the help of the university), they will obtain more real experience and skills aside from the theoretical knowledge that they acquire during their study period.
