ABOUT
Studying in Two Year A level Course at Rochester Independent College in the UK:
The ‘conventional’ A level course lasts for two years. At RIC it is usual for students to study four subjects in Year 12 and three in Year 13. Where required, additional language teaching support leading to the IELTS examination is part of the course.
Necessary information:
YEAR 12 & 13 (AGES 16 UPWARDS)
Day or Boarding
Duration: 2 years
Tuition: £29,400 per year
Boarding Fees: £12,600 (twin), £18,000 (single)
Annual Fees: £42,000 twin boarding, £47,400 single boarding
Curriculum:
Early on a two-year course, students have chance to try subjects for a while before settling to a final choice. RIC specialises in teaching short courses and it is thus rarely a problem should a student wish to change subject options as late as the beginning of their second year of study.
Guidance is always available in making option choices, indeed, students would not be allowed to change subjects until the change had been discussed at length with Personal Tutors. Many two year A level students take a combination of one and two year courses and thus maintain variety, interest and challenge in their programme of study.
Career opportunity:
Some students have a firm career aim and can with confidence select a certain set of A level subjects. Others are encouraged to select combinations which keep their options as wide open as possible.

- results of any public examinations already taken
- all recent school reports and academic transcripts
- A reference from either a Headteacher or Head of Year

accommodation
Boarders are well cared for and thrive in the caring, pleasant environment. They greatly enjoy their boarding experience. RIC offers a real alternative to traditional independent sixth form boarding schools and our halls will quickly become your home from home. Up to 130 of the 375 students at the College board each year with boarding from 13+.
You’ll board on campus, in a single room, some of which have ensuite facilities. Boarding at RIC combines the informality of a university hall of residence with the supervision and pastoral support appropriate for older teenagers. The emphasis is on providing a comfortable, happy and fun environment. For students over the age of 18 who would prefer not to board at College but live in off-site accommodation we have a small number of offsite houses where students can live more independently but still benefit from College support and catering.
After Graduation
Most of the graduates from this international boarding school will have bright academic futures. Because this institute will offer perfect counseling services to all international and local applicants who wish to continue their studies at higher academic levels. On the other hand, these students will benefit from studying at one of the best institutes in this country. therefore, most international and local universities will accept their admission request after graduation.
