What you’ll study
Project management in construction requires an overview of the entire process, from inception to completion. This involves a close working relationship between the project manager and the client. Taught by experts from the construction industry, our course has been designed to deliver relevant, cutting-edge skills you can bring to work as a construction project manager, no matter where you are in your career.
The course will cover:
- Managing project briefing, key design and development issues at a detailed level.
- Learning essential skills to create appropriate procurement strategies.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the organisational structures required to achieve successful project outcomes, including legal and contractual constraints and people management skills.
Course structure
The Online MSc Construction Project Management course is formed of 12 modules, each worth 10 credits plus a dissertation worth 60 credits. The duration of the course is two and a half years.

Entry requirements
Applying with prior qualifications
- 2:2 honours degree, in a construction industry-related subject; or,
- Corporate membership of an appropriate construction industry-related professional body which has been approved for this purpose by the University, preferably alongside industry experience at managerial level; or,
- An alternative approved construction industry-related professional qualification, together with appropriate industrial experience at managerial level in the construction industry.

Applying with non-standard entry qualifications/experience
- Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis. Assessment of your experience will confirm that you have achieved the necessary skills in the course of your general experience.
- You will probably be employed on significant infrastructure and/or building works, either as a direct employee of local or national government, or in the private sector. You will likely have experience of developing and coordinating significant infrastructure and building projects.

Home (UK/EU students) and International students: £11,000.
Tuition fees are payable for each year that you are at the University. The level of tuition fees for the second and subsequent years of your postgraduate course may increase in line with inflation and as specified by the UK government.
If you choose to study the two-year route of an eligible course, which incorporates a work placement, the fee for Year Two will be £1,385.
If you’re starting a postgraduate course in January 2023 you’ll pay the 2022 fee.
Late Applications
If you missed the UCAS January deadline, it’s not too late to apply to join us in September 2022.
Applying to university after the January deadline isn’t anything to worry about – we accept applications for most of our undergraduate courses until Thursday 30 June 2022.
If you apply after Thursday 30 June 2022, your application will automatically be entered into Clearing. Clearing opens on Tuesday 5 July 2022, but we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
