ABOUT
Introduction:
The course builds on and shares many modules with our Computer Science degree. We then combine this with specialised games technology modules to produce a course which is distinct and unique – perfect if you are interested in creative applications of computer technology.
The combination of a solid foundation in traditional computer science alongside games technology knowledge allows you to keep your options open when it comes to jobs and career paths. Our graduates are just as likely to move into well paid careers with Investment banks or Motorsports companies as they are to join the ranks of a AAA games Studio.
Join us and you will acquire the advanced skills and knowledge needed to design and implement a diverse range of computer systems. You’ll mainly be software engineering using C++, but you will also learn to program using Python, Java and C# providing you with a fantastic portfolio of development skills demanded by employers today. It goes without saying that you will be introduced to the techniques behind the production of 3D game assets and be developing your own games using Unreal Engine 5, Unity and the Android SDK. You will take these skills to the next level by developing serious and educational games for real-world clients and creating immersive experiences for VR headsets like the Quest2, Pico3 and Vive Pro Eye.

Entry requirements
What are we looking for?
- A-levels – BBB including an IT, Maths or Science subject; or
- 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, including an A-level grade B equivalent in an IT, Maths or a Science subject; or
- BTEC Extended Diploma grades DDM (including relevant IT, Maths or Science modules); and
- GCSE English and Maths grade C/4.
Fees and funding
International fees for 2022 entry onto a full-time undergraduate course are:
- £15,600, or
- £16,200 (for courses in the Nottingham School of Art & Design and Nottingham Business School).
Tuition fees are payable for each year that you are at University. Tuition fees for the second and subsequent years of your undergraduate course may increase in line with inflation and as specified by the UK government.
If you choose to do a work placement as part of the undergraduate course the fee for the work placement will be £1,385.
Late Applications
If you missed the UCAS January deadline, it’s not too late to apply to join us in September 2022.
Applying to university after the January deadline isn’t anything to worry about – we accept applications for most of our undergraduate courses until Thursday 30 June 2022.
If you apply after Thursday 30 June 2022, your application will automatically be entered into Clearing. Clearing opens on Tuesday 5 July 2022, but we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
