This programme focuses mainly on the software in IT systems, which can be found in everything from mobile phones and games to cars and industrial robots. As a computer scientist, you will get solid knowledge of programming and the art of designing and developing IT systems.
Computers are controlled by programs. These programs can be very small, or huge systems with millions of lines of program code. The development of larger programs requires well thought-out approaches and a good organization. How to organize, design and develop large computer systems are some of the things that you learn in software technology, which is an area of the subject computer science. You will also acquire knowledge of other fields of computer science such as computer networks, databases and operating systems.

Curriculum:
The study programme comprises 180 credits and includes a final degree dissertation project of 15 credits. The programme consists primarily of courses in Computer Science. These are divided into general introductory courses, advanced courses in key areas and courses in the study programme’s specialization, network security.
In addition to courses in computer science there are also courses in other subjects, mainly Mathematics. These courses aim to prepare students for in-depth courses in Computer Science and to provide students with a solid background as a basis for their future professional role.

Application Requirements:
- Have successfully completed your upper secondary (high school) education (post-16), and
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in English. The entry requirement for bachelor’s studies in Sweden is to have studied the equivalent of the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
- For students who received their final school grades after 31 December 2009, there is an additional mathematics requirement. You must have successfully completed courses equal to the Swedish courses Mathematics 1a, 1b or 1c.
- Record of completed upper secondary (high school) education.
- Copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph, or a similar identification document.
- You must upload your documentation both in the original language and in an official translation. Accepted languages for translations are Swedish and English.
