Studying master’s in Information Systems at Linnaeus University in Sweden:
The master programme in Information Systems will give advanced and broad knowledge of the planning, design, use and leadership of information systems in organisations and businesses. It will also prepare for research studies within informatics. The aim is to give each student the competence needed to describe and analyse businesses, organisations and their need for developing information systems.

Curriculum:
For 1 year program:
The program consists of 60 credits in Informatics, corresponding to 1 year full time study. In semester 1 students are introduced to the main field with focus on organization, design and management, and the main methods, methodologies and theories. The program concludes with a degree project of 15 credits, which is placed part time during the last semester of studies.
For 2 years program:
The program consists of 120 credits in Informatics, corresponding to 2 year full time study. In the first semester students are introduced to the main field with focus on organization, design and management, and the main methods, methodologies and theories. In the second semester current challenges and phenomena in informatics to develop knowledge and skills in designing, organizing and directing and coordinating activities are discussed. Third semester links back to the program’s focus: organization, design and management to enable in-depth knowledge, abilities and skills.
The program concludes with a degree project. The program consists of a minimum of 90 credits of courses in the main field informatics with gradual progression. Within these includes a degree project of 30 credits, which is based in the final year at half time alternatively at full time during the last semester of studies. The other credits consist of courses that the student chooses in informatics or other main area. The program is structured in a way that allows for joint classes during the duration of the first year with the one-year masters program in Information Systems.

Application Requirements:
- You must have been awarded a Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) from an internationally recognised university.
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in English. For most master’s level courses and programmes, the requirement is also the equivalent of the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. There are some master’s level courses and programmes where English 5 or English 7 is the requirement.
- You must provide certificates and diplomas of your completed degree(s) from an internationally recognised higher education institution.
- Transcripts of completed courses and grades for each semester included in your degree. If you have had courses credited/transferred from previous studies, you must also submit official transcripts for those courses.
- Copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph, or a similar identification document.
- You must upload your documentation both in the original language and in an official translation. Accepted languages for translations are Swedish and English.
