Studying in the fashion foundation program at the Marangoni institute
The Foundation Year encourages participants to investigate the world of fashion, through an exploration of all its aspects, from keywords to styles, from illustration to product in the fashion system. This course is for candidates that may not have all the entry requirements to undertake a 3-year undergraduate program or that are simply unsure as to which area of study best suits their skills or where their true passion lies. The students will be introduced, while improving their language knowledge and their specific skills in the fashion field, to new working methods that will teach them to do research, develop their ideas and reflect on their progress. All participants then understand, adapt and safely use practical methods and skills for creative production as well as solving complex problems through the application of fashion design ideas into solutions for those problems. The course helps students to build their own portfolio of works with projects that will involve styling, business and fashion contents.

Curriculum
The Foundation Course is a full-time one-year program and is divided into two Semesters. The overall aim of the program is to investigate the fashion system covering three main areas: Fashion Styling, Fashion Business, and Fashion Design. The program explores the world of styling and the visual culture applied to fashion. Students are introduced to the lexicon used in communication, providing them with a panoramic view that spans the worlds of art, cinema, and magazines (digital and offline).

Courses held in English language. For students who choose combined programs, £ 2.500 will be deducted from the tuition fee of the first year of the three-year program with October 2023 intake, on the basis of the didactical offer and prices for 2023-24. This is on the condition that the student pays the enrolment fee no later than
30 April 2023 for those who enrolled on the Foundation Year in October 2023
14 June 2023 for those who enrolled on the Foundation Year in February 2024
After these periods no deduction will be applicable on the tuition fee. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Year course and meet the prerequisites, will be entitled to access one of the three-year courses in London, Paris, Milan or Florence.
