TWU offers diverse and thought-provoking courses and experiences to arm students with the skills and know how to make a contribution on the international stage. these courses teach you the skills you need to learn and describe languages, even languages that do not have a written alphabet. These skills include the recognition and pronunciation of non-English speech sounds, alphabet formation, description of grammars, and systems of meaning and beliefs. the courses are based on proven techniques drawn from decades of research in hundreds of languages. As a student of Linguistics, you will have opportunities in the areas of translation, cross-cultural communication, international development (especially literacy programs), speech-language pathology, and teaching English as a second language.

Application Requirements:
Students must have standing in five subjects of which at least two must be taken at the Advanced level.
Students may be eligible for three semester hours of credit for each Advanced level course completed to a maximum of 12 semester hours provided that a minimum grade of C is achieved in that course. Departments will determine if credit awarded is general or course specific.
The following equivalents will be considered:
- School Certificate: same as GCE with at least two passes at the principal level of the Higher School Certificate.
- Certificate of matriculation from recognized universities.
- International Baccalaureate with at least two subjects at the higher level.
- Other countries: write or email the Admissions Office for information.
English language requirements:
The native speakers of English or the applicants who completed their previous studies in the English language do not need to present an English language certificate to prove their proficiency. However, other international applicants must have:

Trinity university in Canada offers accommodation to all students with the aim of creating a community in which they can promote the concept of divinity and kinship. Students have seven options to choose from; Fraser Hall, Douglas Hall, Robson Hall, Devries Centre, Skidmore Hall, Jacobson Hall and McMillan Hall. Each of these halls consist of rooms and suites with different levels of privacy and consequently, different prices.
They are all equipped with laundry, Wi-Fi, TV, bed, desk, washroom, Garbage disposal and air conditioning. Some are also equipped with kitchen, fridge and microwave. Additionally, student residences provide students with entertainment opportunities and some are equipped with pool table or ping pong table. Depending on the room students choose, they may live on their own or share a room with one or two roommates. Last but not least, all the dorms are fully monitored extremely safe.
