Application Requirements:

  • MSc degree in Chemistry with high standing from a recognized university.
  • Comparable qualifications in biology or biochemistry are also acceptable for applicants wishing to do graduate studies in biochemistry.
  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or a related field. A master’s degree is usually preferred, but not always required.
  • Transcripts: Applicants must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Typically, three letters of recommendation are required from individuals familiar with the applicant’s academic and/or research abilities.
  • Statement of Purpose: Applicants must provide a statement of purpose outlining their research interests and career goals.
  • Resume/CV: A current CV or resume should be submitted, outlining the applicant’s academic and professional experiences, publications, and research projects.

 

English language requirements:

• Applicants, regardless of citizenship, whose primary language is not English, will be required to provide proof of English proficiency scores prior to their admission to Concordia University. Test results that are more than two years old at the time of application will not be accepted.
• English second language (ESL) course requirement: The Department of Education offers ESL courses to non-native speakers of English who are accepted by Concordia University but who must upgrade their reading and writing skills.
• In all cases, the University reserves the right to require an English language proficiency test if it is deemed necessary.
