- Transcripts: Applicants must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

- Research Proposal: Applicants must submit a research proposal outlining their proposed research topic and methodology. The research proposal should demonstrate the applicant’s ability to conduct original research in the field of civil engineering.
- Master’s degree in English or equivalent.
- GPA of 3.50 or above from a recognized university.
- Promise as a scholar as demonstrated by letter of intent and submitted writing sample.
- Proposed research that is relevant to the program.
- A feasible research proposal in terms of material resources including faculty supervision.
- Proficiency in English. Applicants whose primary language is not English must demonstrate that their knowledge of English is sufficient to pursue graduate studies in their chosen field. Please refer to the English language proficiency page for further information on requirements and exemptions.
English language requirements:
• Applicants, regardless of citizenship, whose primary language is not English, will be required to provide proof of English proficiency scores prior to their admission to Concordia University. Test results that are more than two years old at the time of application will not be accepted.
• English second language (ESL) course requirement: The Department of Education offers ESL courses to non-native speakers of English who are accepted by Concordia University but who must upgrade their reading and writing skills.
• In all cases, the University reserves the right to require an English language proficiency test if it is deemed necessary.

After Graduation

Upon graduation, international students are entitled to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), enabling them to seek employment in Canada.
